It was worth it...

This summer when we were in Michigan we cleaned out my parent's basement. There were a lot of things I wanted, yet we were pretty short on space in our vehicle to get it all to Arizona. I remember looking at my Grandma's cedar chest and almost crying. I wanted it so badly, but I just wasn't sure how we were going to get it home. I remember my husband telling me "If it means that much to you and you want it, I will find a way to get it to fit in the suburban".

I was a little concerned as my pile of just a cedar chest grew larger. I started thinking that the kids were going to have to ride on the roof of the car as I looked around at childhood memories I wanted to keep.

One of the other things I really wanted to keep was an old doll high chair that has been around for a long time. I believe it was my Mother's and I remember playing with it as a child. As we were loading our car to head back to Arizona I remember handing Chris this high chair. I had NO idea where he was going to put it. Our suburban was busting at the seams and we still had to find a place to sit! The great packer he is, he got it to fit and it made the 2000 mile journey from Michigan to our home in Arizona. It has been in the girl's room since then.

Today while I was cleaning Raelyn and Adalyn's bedroom, Adalyn decided the high chair was a good place to sit and watch me. She is so cute and to see her playing with the high chair I played with as a child was pretty heartwarming!

Wooden Highchair: $20.00 a few years back
Gas to get it from Michigan to Arizona: $353.00
Watching my daughter enjoy the high chair I played with as a child: Priceless
