PineWood Derby!

Broedy is in scouts now so we got to experience our 1st pinewood derby this week! I had no idea how much actually went into making these cars.

First John (our friend/neighbor) took the boys to a friends house to cut the block of wood they got to make their car. Then Chris helped Broedy paint his car and then we had to weight the car. It couldn't weigh more than 5 ozs but we wanted it as close to 5 ozs as possible so it would go faster! What an ordeal!

John, Stephanie & Chris! We were weighing the cars and then drilling holes to put washers and other various things in the car to make them weight 5 ozs.

Weighing Lance's car, his wheels and a bunch of washers.

Lots of tools! I'm surprised we all got through this will all of our fingers! Take a look at the clock! 10:14 pm. Us adults were up until about 11:30 the night before the derby getting the cars ready!

11 months

Adalyn Grace,

Today you are 11 months old. How is that possible? In one short month you will turn one. I can't say I'm overly excited about that. If I could bottle you up, I would. You are at such a fun stage. You are pulling up on anything and everything you can get your hands on. You have started walking around furniture and have mastered going up the stairs in no time flat. We have been working at teaching you to go down on your belly, but you scream in protest as we pull you down by your legs. If you were a bystander you would think we were pulling your limbs off one at a time by the loud screaming that comes out of your little mouth when we try to teach you the art of going down the stairs. Your lungs work well. You use them with your siblings on a daily basis. You may be little but you hold your own against your older siblings.

Your have a total of six teeth now. You got FIVE teeth in two days this week. Four on the top and one more on the bottom. I'm amazed at what a good baby you are. Other than a diaper rash, you would have no idea you were getting FIVE teeth at one time.

One of your favorite times right now is bath time. As soon as you hear the water running, you crawl at lightening speed into the bathroom. You stand at the tub fully clothed trying to climb in. You squeal in delight as I get you undressed. You love to play with the bath toys and splash around with your brother.

You are still a total Mommy's girl. You do just fine with just about anyone until I'm around. I love hearing you say "ma". You say it often and it is music to my ears. You are a little ham and love attention. You love to play and be silly but you will still sit on my lap for long periods of times. You have recently learned how to give kisses. I love your sweet, sloppy full faced kisses. You will happily give them to me, Daddy and your siblings. Myles loves to return the favor by giving you wet, sloppy kisses in return. You are in awe of our dogs and will crawl after them.

11 months. It has gone way too fast!

With much love my sweet, sweet little girl.

The Phoenix Childrens Museum

Today I took the three youngest kids to the Phoenix Childrens Museum with two of my friends and their kids. It was such a neat place. The kids had lots of fun and it was great to watch them just be kids and run around for the day. Everything was kid sized just for them and it was great.

We started out by putting balls into these tubes that had suction. They balls would go through these set of tubes and then shoot out the top. It was pretty cool!

Then they climbed through these huge tunnels.

After that it was on to noodle forest. It was a huge forest of pool noodles the kids could run though. At the back of the forest was a sitting area with even more fun things to do.

Then it was ice cream time!

Then we played in the bead pit!

And next it was time to go grocery shopping!

Even Adalyn had a lot of fun. They had things for her to do in almost every room we went to. This was a texture wall she was playing with.

Then it was time to make some dinner!

And play with ramps, mazes and balls.

Shawna, Shelby, Jenna & Raelyn

Myles found a bridge!

and Adalyn found a room designed just for her age group.

Then we painted!

Raelyn & Jenna

and make butterflies in the craft room.

And next it was time to go bike riding.

Jeanna with Myles & Briaunna in the back. Raelyn was helping Jenna by pushing the bike.

Myles loved these little wooden cars and zoomed all over on them.

and go through the "bike" wash.

It was a great day!

Wazoo Bars!

About a month ago my co-workers and I played a game with our daycare kids. We all sat in a circle and made this big web. Each student had to tell us their favorite candy bar. A few of the kids said their favorite candy bar was a Wazoo bar. We had never heard of a wazoo bar before and this is the conversation me and my co-workers had with the kids..

Us: What's a wazoo bar?
Kids: It's a chocolate bar with ice cream
Us: So it has ice cream in it like a snickers ice cream bar?
Kids: No, but it has taffy in it and gumballs on top
Us (very confused): So it's a chocolate bar with taffy in it and gumballs on top? Does it have ice cream in it or not?
Kids: No
Us: Okay, where do you get these wazoo bars at?
Kids: We don't know

Ummmmmm...Okay! So the search was on! We looked for weeks at various grocery stores, gasstations, ect. and could not find these wazoo bars. We decided they must be pulling our leg. Sooooo, we googled it. Sure enough, Wazoo bars DO exist, they come in two flavors and we found a whole webpage about them. So off to search again. This weekend I got a text from my co-worker and he said he found them....at Wal-mart of all places. But we found out only some Wal-marts carry them which is why we couldn't find them earlier.

Anyway, today we tried our Wazoo bars at work!

Mr. Kody, Me and Ms. Fadumo with our Wazoo bars. One of each flavor!

Ms. Fadumo with her wazoo bars.

Me with my wazoo bars.

This is what the berry wazoo bar look liks. The inside is pink and yellow taffy and it has crunchy stuff on top and they look like they belong in a Dr. Suess book. And, they are pretty gross!

At least we can say we have tried them now:-)

Field Trip to the Zoo!

Today I went on a field trip to the zoo with Broedy. It was a very hot day (it hit the 100's today here in AZ), but we had a great time and it was fun to spend the day with my son!

Checking out the large turtles.

It was feeding time. These things are huge.

A black bear. It was cool to see it close up.

Broedy with the bear behind him.

Walking through the monkey area.

Broedy and some of his classmates in front of the Zebras. My friend Stephanie went with her son as well so we hung out with them for most of the day.

I think these guys are the best.

A Tiger......

and a lion.

My favorite guy!

Me & Broedy It was so nice to spend time with him today without the other kids.
